Not my normal type of Blog...

Recently I have been getting a service done at the salon ( Juan Juan Salon Beverly Hills) That I am totally getting addited to...The funny part is that I had these done a few times before and it felt a little strange to me and dramatic...but as I have gotten used to it it seems I FEEL total different when I don't have it done...Oh I guess I need to mention it is permanent eye-lash extentions! Yes I mean permanant as in it last several weeks with care...When Stefanie my co-worker first put them on my we seemed to be doing some what of a trial...I got the craziest comments, like OH you are wearing make up ( I wear the same every day) to you look so awake...Or How pretty and fresh I looked...The funny part is no one really commented on the lashes at first....It was a change so subtle that it was not obvious which I likes...The eyes are the mirrors to the soul so that being said I guess my soul was getting a little more attention...haha

How it is done is that he lashes are individually placed in brtween the natural lashes. Thee are different sizes and legnths depending on your end desires. How they are plaed also makes a difference...If you have droopy eyes or want a  lift..The cat eyed look is my favorite...its a great treat to give your self for a special occasion or to see if that special guy will notice...and the extra boost puts a little bounce in your step!...Glamour it up ladies!

When to go darker!

Posted by beautywithinwellness on April 27, 2010 at 11:47 PM Comments comments (0)

So one of my favorite things to do for my clients as they are aging is to darken their hair....That’s right I said darken! I know I get this question all the time from my clients that ask me is it true I have to go lighter? I say not necessarily and in some cases too light is completely the wrong thing to do!..Think about it I have seen to many women come in looking all washed out from a color that is faded and not bringing any life to their skin tones...going too light in some cases actually ages you.!

I like to take the color to the natural eye color if brunette and in blonds to their brow color. Then we can play with a little tone on tone hiliting for dement-ion. The skin really pops in brightness and contrast and actually gives you up to ten years back!

Some times “rules” were made to be broken ..go ahead ask me more...inside tricks of my trade...till later...

I thought I would include this as taken from AOL news...So many times I here complaints of allergies it is ove whelming...but the symtoms tells us we ae not building our immune systems..there are some easy steps to take if you are wlling to take them...Here oes from Aol.....

Natural Allergy ReliefPrintEmailMoreBy Corey Binns

Itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing and coughing are all signs that allergy season has arrived, and it's hitting harder than ever, with experts predicting this will be the worst allergy season in a decade. While many sufferers typically reach for an arsenal of over-the-counter or prescription medications to fend off symptoms, others may be bothered by the potential side effects or unable to take some due to certain medical conditions. The good news is you may be able to treat your worst allergy symptoms without medication.

Supplements and lifestyle strategies may promise relief. But be sure to talk to your doctor before taking any supplements, as they may interact with other medications you're taking, says Roberta Lee, M.D., vice chair of the Department of Integrative Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center and author of "The Superstress Solution." In addition, read the box for the appropriate dosage and take according to the directions or as instructed by your doctor.

Read on for AOL Health's expert's picks for natural allergy relief.

Watch the Clock

To keep pesky pollen, grass and other allergens at bay, keep your windows closed in the morning and at dusk, when allergens are at their peak. Avoid exercising during those times, as well.

"If you're running at that time of day, you're basically inoculating yourself," says Lee.

Take a shower after being outside to scrub off pollen and other allergens. Same goes for Fido. Give your pets a good washing so they're not dragging pollen into the house.

Neti Pot

The fewer allergens you have in your system, the less you'll sneeze and sniffle. Take a deep breath outside, however, and you'll inhale pollen and other allergens that stick to your mucus membranes. That's where a Neti Pot comes in handy. The hypertonic saline wash can flush out these allergens in your nasal passages.

"Pre-made nasal irrigation solutions found at the drugstore are perfectly fine to use," says Lee.

She recommends using the Neti Pot twice a day.

This ingredient, found in many spicy foods, comes from the chili pepper plant and can act as a pain reliever. It may also clear up your congestion. An over-the-counter nasal spray for allergies, called Sinol, uses capsaicin.

"The spray has an apparent effect on nasal membranes to reduce irritation by allergens such as pollens," says Clifford Bassett, M.D., a member of the faculty at New York University School of Medicine and assistant clinical professor of medicine at the Long Island College Hospital SUNY at Brooklyn.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Oily fish, green leafy vegetables, flax seed and hemp seed are all rich in omega-3.

"The trouble is most people don't get enough in their diet," says Lee. "I prescribe omega-3 for general health as an anti-inflammatory."

This can help reduce inflammation, which amplifies an allergic response. Lee recommends eating oily fish such as salmon, tuna, herring and sardines once or twice a week. If you're not a fish eater, take one to three grams of omega-3 fatty acids from supplements each day.

Vitamin D

Found in sunlight and naturally occurring in some foods, such as egg yolks, herring and cod liver oil, vitamin D is vital to protecting muscle strength as we age and in preventing cancer, diabetes and autoimmune diseases and may offer asthma and allergy protection. Ask your doctor to check your vitamin D levels. Lee recommends taking 2,000 international units of vitamin D3 a day if they're low. Or, if it's a warm, sunny day, expose one third of your body to the sunshine for 10 minutes.

Ginger and Turmeric

Your spice cupboard is home to a host of tasty allergy remedies.

"Get involved in your senses and enjoy spices that inadvertently make your food healthier," says Lee.

Both tumeric and ginger are powerful anti-inflammatories that may help reduce nasal and sinus inflammation. And unlike medications, they are also high in antioxidants. Lee says you can reduce inflammation and add more vitamins to your diet all at once by drinking two to three cups of ginger tea a day or cooking with two to four grams of tumeric a day.

"It's kind of like getting two medicines in one."

Stinging Nettle and Quercetin

Your body's mast cells are filled with chemicals that cause inflammation. Exposure to an allergen can cause the mast cell to rupture, releasing chemicals that start an allergic reaction. Stinging nettle and quercetin are anti-inflammatory supplements that can act as mast cell stabilizers. Lee recommends taking two to four capsules of stinging nettle every four to six hours. Quercetin works like a natural Benadryl, Lee says. Take 500 mg twice a day.

This herbal supplement avoids the chain reaction of an allergy attack and decreases swelling.

"It helps with itchy eyes, swelling in your nose and coughing."

She recommends taking about 50 mg twice a day.

This ancient medical practice can alleviate many allergy symptoms. But, Lee cautions, you should find an acupuncturist who has trained for at least four years. Lee says you may want to visit an acupuncturist as often as twice a week when your symptoms are at their worst. During the winter when allergies subside, you may not need to see someone at all.

Reduce Stress

Pollen isn't the only thing that makes a bad allergy season. Chronic stress can contribute.

"People with asthma have far worse asthma when they're stressed," says Lee.

Allergies are similar. To alleviate stress, Lee recommends an anti-inflammatory diet and deep breathing exercise"

I believe nature has given us what we need we are just not allways willing to take action to do what has been available to us!

Kidney Cleaning

Posted by beautywithinwellness on April 19, 2010 at 1:43 AM Comments comments (0)

Years pass by and our kidneys are filtering the blood by removing salt, poison and any unwanted entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates and this needs to undergo cleaning treatments and how are we going to overcome this?

It is very easy, first take a bunch of parsley and wash it clean

Then cut it in small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and boil it for ten minutes and let it cool down and then filter it and pour in a clean bottle and keep it inside refrigerator to cool.  Drink one glass daily and you will notice all salt and other accumulated poison coming out of your kidney by urination also you will be able to notice the difference which you never felt before.

Parsley is known as best cleaning treatment for kidneys and it is natural!

A Sign of "Maturity" (Grey Hair)

Posted by beautywithinwellness on April 11, 2010 at 11:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Recently A friend of mine asked me what did I think about her allowing her grey hair to grow out without covering it up with color. Well my response is always the same..Do you want to look ten years older? This is not me being sacastic in the least but as a society our eyes viually perseve the greying process as aging. The New 50 is 40 and 40 30 simply because we have learned what appears to make us look and feel younger.

Her response to me was what inspired me to blog on it." Carmela, she said, i feel that i have grown and earned so much wisdom in the past few years I want to own it. "What a great reponse! She was giving me then the great examples of how the elders in some tribs or cultures look...I had the whole visual...I love this example. So even though my actual day time job is all about covering up that stuff...Why cover it up if it gives you a different sense of identity in a positive way?

Things to ponder on...and remember Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

One of my members just asked for more info or thought on BWW....Well here goes. it has started to become more evident even to modern science and doctors that research is showing how our thoughts and emotions effect us in a biological way. Deepak chopra in hs book" Think and Grow Young" tells us that our cells can actually reverse through our Eviironment or how we see ourselves as far as a age...

In a scientific study they took a group of seniors and surounded them by eveything they had in their environment when whenthe y were in there 40 and 50's and they actually showed evidence of cell reversal!...In plain English what I am saying what we think about our age can actually effect how we age...My father always prided himself that well into his 60 and even 70's people could not guess his age. He truely looked and felt at least 15 years younger. He loved to be with younger people and did not define himself by a number. What a great teacher for me. Instead I am sure we all know peolple who constantly conplain or talk about being a certain number therefore they feel or look......

We age because we slow down. Because we conditon ourselves and expect the changes to occur. Actually Science has no understanding why this happens because the cells are always replacing themselves...Cells have memory and will be influenced by our thoughts. I envite you the next time you get a paper cut to nurse it and dwell on it and think how much it hurts verses letting it heal on its own knowing perfectly well that it will. I conducted this experimant myself with a much more serious situation and my doctor only told me she had never seen heal so rapidly and so well....

How does this all tie into Beauty...Well you tell me.....:0

Ever Wonder What Keeps a Man Attracted?

Posted by beautywithinwellness on March 13, 2010 at 11:12 PM Comments comments (3)

With all the millions and if not billions of dollars that people spend on themselves and their appearance why, is it that some of the most sizzeling celbrities or down right gorgeous people remain alone?  Researchers such as Alison A. Armstong in her book " Making Sense of Men" point out to us that men want to be available to the right women ...But if all you are going to be representing is your exterior than that is all your going to get! ( That goes both ways by the way ladies and gents). She goes on to mention the four qualities of attraction of them my favorite ...shiny hair! No wonder we all spend hours in the salon ...( Hope fully and spend all kinds of money investing in products. It is even biologcaly proven to  back to cave men time , men chose women on shape intuitively to bare their children. (Did you know its healthy oils in the body create shine?...if your body fat in under 17 percent you are not fertile nor have shiney hair!....So run way models ...get some meat on you!)

But all this being said this is not the most important for a lasting atraction the number one attraction factor...drum roll please...SELF CONFIDENSE!...We just have to be ourselves...don't turn ourselves into gym rats or suck the life out of us...There is someone out there that that wants what you are not what you can become or wish to be!...Life begins from within  and so does attraction...LEt it be!
